Principal’s Message November 2015

Dear Parents,
What a blessing to have made it to November without any snow. What a surprise to find that we are already at November, the 2015-2016 school year is 20% completed.

I want to thank all of you who attended our Parent Teacher Conferences. It is important that we have open communication to ensure that our partnership to support your students is strong. An important piece of that communication is the Progress Reports that will be posted to SchoolZone on Friday, December 4, 2015. Please ensure that you spend some time with your students celebrating and discussing their progress towards their goals.

November provides a time for us to remember those who have served our country in the armed forces. We will be having a Remembrance Day Chapel in the gym on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:40 am. Parents are welcome to join us.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky the larks still bravely singing fly
scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: short days ago, we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
loved and were loved: and now we lie in Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe. To you, from failing hands, we throw
the torch: be yours to hold it high if ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders fields

Composed at the battlefront on May 3, 1915 during the second battle of Ypres, Belgium
